The Bird Stamp Society
WELCOME
Founded in 1986, we are an international philatelic Society, affiliated to the British Thematic Association. Membership of the Society is open to anyone worldwide who has an interest in collecting bird stamps and bird-related postal history and philatelic material.
The Bird Stamp Society (BSS) is one of the few recognised representative organisations for bird stamp collectors. We are a small specialist stamp Society with members across the globe.
Our funding comes solely from subscriptions, allowing us to produce the quarterly Society journal Flight, keeping members up-to-date with new issues, stamp shows, fairs, specialist articles and resources with both an ornithological and philatelic base.
THE FLIGHT JOURNAL
Quite possibly the only dedicated members journal on bird stamps, Flight is the core product of the Bird Stamp Society, and is available to members via hard copy or pdf download.
It is a full-colour journal issued in March, June, September and December, and features a range of bespoke articles provided by BSS members, as well as a number of regular features.
The Members Only web pages also hold every back issue of Flight - back to Number One, issued in 1986
